Industry, agribusiness and electric buses: what Lukashenko will focus on before the end of the year, said Krutoy
Dmitry Krutoy outlined three main economic blocs that Alexander Lukashenko will control before the end of the year on the eve of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.

The head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus Dmitry Krutoy in an interview with the TV channel “First Information” outlined the economic priorities of Alexander Lukashenko until the end of the year. According to him, industry is now the most pressing topic for the state, especially given the upcoming meeting of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly at the end of the year. Despite the acceptable results of socio-economic development, 2026 turned out to be a difficult year for virtually all industries.
The Head of State focuses on machine-building flagships that are rebuilding their flows, changing the geography of exports and looking for new suppliers of components within the framework of import substitution. The President tightly controls the quality of products, as without this it is impossible to enter new markets in Africa and Asia.
“Quality is the number one issue. Without this, it is impossible to enter new markets, be it Africa or Asian countries, said Dmitry Krutoy.
The construction sector and agriculture are also under special control.
“Today, these are the three main blocks that determine the economy of the country as a whole,” the head of the presidential administration said.
By the end of the year, the President will continue a series of working visits and meetings. The plans include a visit to Belkommunmash, a leading manufacturer of electromechanical transport. Particular attention will be paid to the development of the electric bus cluster and the transfer to new transport of pilot cities such as Zhodino, Shklov and Novopolotsk, as well as the replacement of part of the route transportation between Minsk and satellite cities. MAZ and the Stadler plant are involved in this work.
The head of state is also interested in how the task of increasing electricity consumption is being solved, taking into account the access to the design capacities of the Belarusian NPP and its integration into the energy system.
“The direction of electric traction technology is very promising. A huge demand, including the Russian market, that is, these are serious export opportunities. Therefore, the President wants to take a comprehensive look at this story, added Dmitry Krutoy.
In the construction block, the Deputy Prime Minister reported on the implementation of major projects and the development of republican and regional investment programs. Science will also become an important area: in the near future, scientists should show their developments and report on the implementation of the tasks set last year. In addition, the “control section” expects the tourism sector, which will double its contribution to GDP under the development program until 2030.
“The President is still working on options where and how. But a big conversation on the topic of tourism will certainly be held, the head of the Presidential Administration said.
This year, Alexander Lukashenko will return to the topic of the agro-industrial complex more than once, while the flax industry will be under separate control. After criticizing the quality of flax harvesting in Shklovsky district in September, the President intends to comprehensively assess the work of agricultural enterprises and the Flax Institute, which provides assistance to farmers. Dmitry Krutoy recalled that the Baranovichi Cotton Production Association, an important enterprise for the economy of the Brest region, passed under the management of the Orsha flax plant.
“The President in the complex wants to listen to information related to the work of our agricultural enterprises that deal with flax, and the participation of our scientists, primarily the Institute of flax from the point of view of helping farmers,” said Dmitry Krutoy.
Belarusian industrial flagships are also implementing a number of projects for credit resources allocated by the Russian Federation as part of integration programs for the Union market. The President is invited to visit a number of productions related to this line. As noted by Dmitry Krutoy, the head of state is now “filled” with material about what the economy of the republic lives on. The information received and many thoughts will be used in the President’s message to the delegates of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, as well as in discussions on the report of the Prime Minister on the implementation of the program of social and economic development of Belarus until 2030.
