Russian President Vladimir Putin invited former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, who arrived in Moscow, to celebrate his birthday. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

Vladimir Putin celebrated his birthday on October 7. He turned 74 that day.

“The President invited his old friend to his home. Gerhard Schroeder was with Vladimir Putin when the head of state celebrated his birthday yesterday, the Kremlin said in a statement.

Gerhard Schroeder served as German Chancellor from 1998 to 2005. He has repeatedly met with the Russian leader and has previously called Putin his friend.
