Rachkov takes part in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tanzania
Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on International Affairs Sergey Rachkov takes part in the work of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on International Affairs Sergey Rachkov takes part in the work of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania). The World Parliamentary Forum will bring together delegations from more than 120 countries. One of the key elements of the program will be the election of the chairman of the IPU for the period 2026-2029.

Within the framework of the general debate, Sergey Rachkov will speak on the topic “Improving the efficiency of public administration and expanding public opportunities through inclusiveness, trust and ensuring equal opportunities”. A meeting of the Eurasia geopolitical group will be held under the chairmanship of the Belarusian parliamentarian, during which hearings of candidates for the post of chairman of the IPU will be held.
As a member of the Bureau of the IPU Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, the parliamentarian will present our country’s position in the discussion on the development of artificial intelligence and the future of work. In addition, the MP is scheduled to participate in expert hearings of the IPU Standing Committee on Peace and International Security on strengthening security and protecting critical infrastructure during crisis periods.
Sergey Rachkov will also represent the Belarusian side at coordination meetings of heads of parliamentary delegations of the CSTO member states in the IPU and the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement. Within the framework of the Assembly, meetings of the Steering Council, the Executive Committee, the Forum of Women Parliamentarians and the Forum of Young Parliamentarians, committees on human rights for parliamentarians and international humanitarian law will be held.
The Assembly is expected to adopt resolutions on the emergency item, as well as on the theme under consideration by the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights: “Inclusive social development for all: parliamentary policies to promote the realization of the rights and empowerment of persons with disabilities”. The Assembly is expected to conclude with the adoption of an outcome document on the main theme of the general debate.
