Ryzhenkov called the condition of the meeting between Lukashenko and trump

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in an interview with RIA Novosti called the main condition for the meeting of Presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Donald Trump. According to him, negotiations should not be held for the sake of the negotiations themselves, so the meeting should be “ripe”.

The organization of the summit requires a “very good substance” – a specific agenda that can be laid down in bilateral agreements and subsequently implemented by both sides. Ryzhenkov stressed that Minsk is open to such a meeting and is making significant efforts for it, but "not at any cost" and "does not stand with an outstretched hand.".

We really consider the meeting of the presidents in a practical way, and appropriate steps are being taken to do this. There was an invitation from President Trump to our President to take part in the Peace Council, which was held in the United States. But, you know, a number of technical issues just prevented us from doing that. And the point is not the American side, but the fact that today it is quite difficult to fly from Belarus to the United States of America, given the sanctions that the European Union imposed personally on the President and on the flights of our aircraft, said Maxim Ryzhenkov.

Ryzhenkov is convinced that it is important for any state to maintain constructive relations with the United States, Russia, China and the EU. Minsk is interested in trade, economic and financial cooperation with Washington. The American side, in turn, is attracted by the issues of combating illegal migration, cross-border crimes, illegal trafficking in weapons, drugs and human trafficking.

At the same time, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry assured that the development of contacts with Washington will not occur at the expense of relations with Russia and China.

“There are certain borders beyond which, in cooperation with other states, we will never go,” the diplomat said.
