Ryzhenkov arrived on an official visit to Vietnam

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov arrived on an official visit to Vietnam. The visit will last from 28 to 30 October, according to Hanoi correspondent sb.by.

During the official visit to Vietnam, the Belarusian Foreign Minister will hold talks at the highest and high levels. The minister’s work program also includes meetings with representatives of business circles, a humanitarian agenda, interviews with Belarusian and Vietnamese media. The visit will begin with the ceremony of laying a wreath at the Monument to the heroes and soldiers of Vietnam by the Belarusian Foreign Minister.

Multilateral cooperation between Minsk and Hanoi has a long history. Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Vietnam were established on January 24, 1992. Political interaction between the countries, built on traditional relations of friendship, trust and mutual understanding, is dynamically developing within the framework of the achieved level of the Belarusian-Vietnamese strategic partnership.

At the same time, dialogue at the highest level is constantly maintained. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko paid official visits to Vietnam in 1997, 2008 and 2015. The general secretaries of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited Belarus in 2002, 2014 and 2025. Numerous contacts were carried out through the government, inter-parliamentary relations are intensively developing. The visits of parliamentary delegations are exchanged and meetings are held within the framework of multilateral events. Contacts are maintained between parliamentary friendship groups.

On October 1, 2026, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Nguyen Van Chung. During the meeting, topical issues of Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation were discussed, including the implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of To Lam, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Belarus in May 2025.
