On the sidelines of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tanzania, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs and National Security Sergey Aleynik held a series of intensive meetings with colleagues from Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. The interlocutors discussed key vectors of inter-parliamentary coordination and steps to expand bilateral cooperation. At the meeting with the head of the Turkish delegation to the IPU Asuman Erdogan, the whole spectrum of Belarusian-Turkish cooperation was substantively considered. The topic of family protection took a special place in the conversation: the Turkish side is preparing to hold an international family forum in Istanbul in May 2027. Sergey Aleynik shared Belarus’ rich experience in holding a large-scale International Forum “Talk about the Important: A Happy Family is a Strong State” and comprehensive support for families. The parliamentarians agreed that the protection of traditional family values on world platforms is our common priority. Qatar: Bridging the clock on the global agenda A thorough exchange of views took place with the Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Qatar Shura Council, Jozef al-Kater. The focus is on the keys to the inter-parliamentary dialogue, the regional situation and effective response to current challenges on the IPU agenda. The results of the dialogue with the Secretary General of the Interparliamentary Conference of Speakers Ek Nat Dakal recorded the high authority of Belarusian parliamentary diplomacy. Ahead of the Third Conference scheduled for 2027 in Indonesia, Ek Nat Dakal thanked Belarus for its constant, active and constructive participation in the work of this authoritative international platform.
