Tikhansky spoke about the role of the SCO and CIS anti-terrorist exercises for Belarus and the entire region

Minsk summed up the results of the first two stages of the SCO and CIS anti-terrorist exercises. On the air of the program “PRO ARMY” on “SBTV”, military analyst Alexander Tikhansky discussed what tasks the Eurasian space has to solve to ensure security, writes sb.by.

- Belarus used to be a European security outpost for the Union State and the CSTO. After we became a full member of the SCO, we became a Eurasian security outpost. At the same time, the tasks are much more complicated, the responsibility of our country is increasing. There are unfriendly messages from different sides - from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine. And countries that do not support Western policy are interested in what we are doing in these conditions, how our exercises are held, the speaker said.

Alexander Tikhansky continued:

- Much was shown at the Center-2026 exercise, which was attended by representatives of 41 states. These were complex maneuvers that took place under the auspices of the Russian Armed Forces, where the military showed the use of various modern weapons. They have worked out what might be needed at the front. Even used combat laser range of 6 kilometers — it can provide a breakthrough battalion as a means of air defense and protection from drones. Belarus acted as the Collective Rapid Reaction Force. Also, command and staff exercises with the CSTO peacekeeping forces “Indestructible Brotherhood – 2026” were held. Most importantly, the military logistics was worked out.

The military analyst added:

- Why was the Counter-Terrorism Forum called that? He brought together the CIS conference on countering terrorism and extremism, the international scientific and practical conference of the SCO RATS and the joint exercises of the competent bodies of the CIS and SCO “Eurasia-Anti-Terror-2026”. Opportunities are expanding, but first we need to consolidate and resolve issues of interaction. We have already learned to respond to terrorist threats and cyber attacks. A single operational language is also important. Unified actions, their understanding, knowledge, who is covering whom and from where - so it turns out a well-coordinated organism that can successfully solve the tasks set.

See the project "PRO ARMY" on Fridays at 12:00 on the YouTube channel "SBTV" and the program is also available on the portal VIDEOBEL.BY.
