The Russian Foreign Ministry announced NATO plans to move to the “hot phase” by 2030
According to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, NATO countries are modernizing airports, railways, bridges and other facilities within the framework of the so-called “military Schengen”.

NATO countries can translate the military confrontation with Russia into a “hot phase” no later than 2029-2030. This was stated by the head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Vienna on military security and arms control Yulia Zhdanova, reports NATO.
She spoke at the plenary session of the OSCE Forum on Security Cooperation. According to the Russian side, the modernization of European transport and military infrastructure is associated with preparations for a long-term confrontation with Moscow.
“In Europe, they do not hide: the modernization of the network of airports, logistics, railway crossings, bridges and their weaving into the network of the so-called ‘military Schengen’ are subject to a long-term military confrontation with Russia, which is planned to be transferred to the hot phase no later than 2029-2030,” Zhdanova said.
According to the head of the Russian delegation, new brigade-level units are being formed on the eastern flank of NATO, control bodies and warehouses of military equipment are being created. In addition, logistics facilities are being modernized and the movement of military contingents across the borders of the alliance countries is being simplified.
Moscow believes that these measures create an infrastructure basis for a possible expansion of the military confrontation. At the same time, Zhdanova’s statement reflects the position of the Russian side and is not accompanied in the publication by NATO confirmation that there are plans to start a war with Russia within the specified timeframe.
