Participation of CSTO peacekeepers in UN peacekeeping missions discussed in New York

CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York held a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix. This was reported in the press service of the CSTO, writes sb.by.

The UN Under-Secretary-General was briefed on efforts to build up the CSTO peacekeeping potential, including improving the regulatory framework. The prospects for involving CSTO peacekeeping forces in UN peacekeeping operations were also discussed, the press service said.

The parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation between the relevant units of the CSTO and UN secretariats.
