106 bears shot by hunters in Sverdlovsk region
The number of brown bears in the Sverdlovsk region remains stable

The number of brown bears in the Sverdlovsk region remains stable. This was told to the “Fourth channel” in the Department for the protection of wildlife. To regulate the population, there is an approved production limit: for the period 2026-2027, it is 977 individuals.
At the moment, 106 animals have been produced as part of amateur hunting. The terms of hunting strictly comply with the Rules of hunting, approved by the order of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia; changes in terms of hunting for bears are not planned in the near future.
The department stressed that at the moment in the Sverdlovsk region not a single case of a bear attack on a person has been recorded. At the same time, the exits of predators to the places of stay of people continue to be recorded. Most often, such situations occur in the northern regions of the region, although there are some cases in other territories.
Taking into account the current situation, experts recommend temporarily refraining from visiting forests without an urgent need. If a trip to the forest is inevitable, it is important to strictly observe precautions: do not go into the forest alone; move noisily - this will scare away the beast; do not leave behind food waste; avoid potentially dangerous places - dense thickets, windstorms, river banks, especially in the dark; carefully monitor the signs of the presence of the bear: footprints, litter with the remains of berries or fish, traces of claws on the bark of trees, dug up anthills.
The regulation of the number of bears is carried out systematically: the natural increase in the population due to the appearance of cubs is balanced by a decrease in the number, including due to hunting in a timely manner. The basis for special regulatory measures is the threat of the spread of diseases, the risk of damage to the health of citizens, as well as the negative impact on wildlife and habitat. If the bear comes to people and it can not be frightened away, a decision is made to regulate the number on the adjacent hunting ground. Currently, such activities are being implemented in different areas of the region.
Earlier, MK-Ural wrote that the traces of the bear during restoration work on power lines were noticed by specialists of Rosseti Ural. The incident occurred on October 5 when bypassing damaged sections of power lines in Krasnoturya district. Photos of the tracks were sent by the power engineers themselves - they reminded that in the forest area it is important to observe not only labor protection rules, but also personal safety measures.
