On October 15, the church honors the memory of the martyrs Cyprian, Justina and Theoctistus
On October 15, Orthodox Christians honor the memory of the Hieromartyr Cyprian, the martyr Justina and Blessed Andrew.

The story of Cyprian, who lived in the third century, is like a fascinating novel. From childhood he learned the dark arts, became a high priest, and commanded demons. But one day he was ordered to charm the pious virgin Justina. What was the astonishment of the magician when his demons fled in horror from the sign of the cross of the girl. Realizing the insignificance of the forces of darkness before Christ, Cyprian repented, burned his sorcerers’ books and was baptized. Soon the former minister of evil became a bishop and converted thousands of pagans to Christ.
During the persecutions, Cyprian and the abbess Justina were captured and beheaded with the sword. Seeing their courage, the warrior Theoctistus also confessed Christ and accepted a martyr’s death. Today, Cyprian is prayed for deliverance from witchcraft and the influence of evil spirits.
Also on October 15, the church commemorates St. Andrew of Constantinople. Taking upon himself the heavy feat of folly, he suffered ridicule and beatings, but received the gift of foresight. It was to him that a great miracle was revealed in the Vlachern temple: The Most Holy Mother of God, extending her omophorion over those who pray. This vision formed the basis of the great feast of the Intercession.
Believers turn to Andrew for healing from ailments and protection from enemies.
October 15 celebrate the name day Andrey, Anna, Boris, Vasily, George, David, Ivan, Constantine, Mikhail, Peter, Stepan, Fedor.
