October 25 – Day of the motorist: beautiful pictures and greeting cards
On October 25, Russia celebrates the Day of Road and Urban Transport Workers.
The history of the holiday was not easy. It all started in 1976 when drivers finally got their day. In 1980, the date was fixed for the last Sunday in October. Then bureaucratic experiments began: in 1996, drivers were “unified” with road workers, in 2000 they were again bred in different calendar corners. And in 2012, city transport workers were added to the holiday. We live with a long official name, although we congratulate everyone on the old memory.
First of all – professionals: truckers, taxi drivers, drivers of buses and trams, as well as those who repair and create cars (mechanics, tire fitters, engineers). They make our daily life more mobile and convenient.
Today, the holiday has long gone beyond the profession. If you have a car, you have the right to receive congratulations. The cities traditionally host large-scale car rallies, exhibitions of retro equipment and competitions for the best tuning. In specialized companies on this day, awards and diplomas are awarded, and the atmosphere of a real driver's brotherhood reigns on the roads.
