“Green border” came to life: how 800 trees were planted in Ovsisch and transformed the square
“Green border” came to life: how 800 trees were planted in Ovsysche and transformed the square Exactly 50 years ago, in 1976, the Pskov border moved back, including the villages of Ovsysche, Sosnovo and others in the city. And today, on October 17, on this very historic border, where the city meets the region, a new inter-municipal square blossomed. Our photo report is about how one idea turned an ordinary green stripe into a real place of power. In the frame - a real folk construction. Thanks to the initiative of a local resident Alexei Egorov (he once installed the figures of elk, deer and the sign “I love Ovsishche”) and the support of TOS “VIP-persons”, almost 800 seedlings were planted here: from slender pines to Japanese spirea and bubbler. The photos show how families with children, Gorduma deputy Grigory Osorenkov and activists work together with shovels. Plants were carefully distributed around favorite local art objects, so that over time they intertwined into a dense hedge. " This project was born as a continuation of the initiative of Alexei Egorov. The county council and the administration supported the idea, and the neighbors just came and sat down. Thank you to everyone! – shares the head of TOS Anna Grigorieva. See how labor, shovels and good-neighborliness make Ovsisch the greenest and most cozy corner of Pskov.
