Weather forecasters estimated when the first snow will fall in Moscow

The first snow in Moscow may fall in the third decade of October, told RBC leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Mikhail Leus. Leading specialist of the Meteonics portal Tatyana Pozdnyakova expects snow or wet snow in early November.

So far in the foreseeable future, in the next five to seven days, snow in Moscow is not expected. There is a possibility that the snow in Moscow will pass in the third decade of October, Leus said.

According to Pozdnyakova, at the end of October, the temperature in the capital region at night will begin to fall below zero. The weather will determine the area of high atmospheric pressure: precipitation is not expected, and a slight cloudiness at night will contribute to the cooling of the earth’s surface. Small morning frosts are characteristic of the last numbers of October, the weather forecaster noted.

Snowfall, wet snow or wet snow with rain Pozdnyakova expects in the first five days of November. The snow cover will be temporary.

“This will be a temporary snow cover, which can last at best a day, maybe a little more,” she explained.

Sustained snow cover is usually established in the capital region in the last days of November. However, this year, the timing may shift to early December: according to Pozdnyakova, October is expected to be warmer than normal, the same forecast is given for November.

In October, the leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Evgeny Tishkovets also said that the first snow in Moscow may fall in the last week of October. According to him, the formation of temporary snow cover is not excluded.
