"Cover. Theatre abandoned the experimental system of voluntary donations to artists due to the ambiguous reaction of the theater industry, said the artistic director of the theater Dmitry Bikbayev in an interview with Radio RBC.
I thought, why not thank the artist for something? That’s exactly what was the goal, explained the artist.
According to him, the directors of some Moscow and federal theaters supported the initiative. At the same time, among the Russian artists there were those who did not approve of this idea.
In addition, some media misinterpreted the initiative, presenting it as a system of “tipping actors”.
To be honest, I’m very worried that some media outlets misinterpreted what we tried to implement in our experiment. It wasn't called "tipping actors." This, relatively speaking, was presented in order to inflict rehearsal damage on our theater, and for me personally, said Bikbayev.
Khudruk stressed that voluntary donations could be an additional way of financial support for artists. “Especially since there is no violation here. We did not restrict anyone’s rights there, he concluded.
Despite the rejection of the experiment, the actors of the “cover”. Theatre is asked to return the voluntary donation system. “And still go, ask, please return,” he said.
Bikbayev also said on Radio RBC that artificial intelligence (AI) can replace actors in the cinema, but in the theater this will not happen because of the need for a human presence on the stage. According to him, AI is already actively replacing specialists in the film industry, including writing scripts and creating images.
