In April 2026, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow returned the case involving three defendants to the prosecutor because of contradictions in the indictment. In particular, the court pointed to discrepancies in the description of the alleged embezzlement scheme, the calculation of damage and the definition of the injured party.
The prosecutor's office appealed the decision. On June 3, the Moscow City Court canceled the decision and sent the case for a new hearing to the Basmanny District Court in a different composition. The appellate court concluded that the shortcomings identified did not prevent the consideration of the case on the merits.
According to the electronic database of the Moscow City Court, the next meeting is scheduled for October 29, 2026 at 10:00 GMT. All three defendants remain under orders not to leave and conduct themselves. The arrest of their property is also maintained.
