The payment service Letim, popular among Russian tourists in Turkey, will stop working from November 30, 2026, the message said.
Until this date, customers will be able to spend the balance of funds on online and offline purchases or withdraw money to their account in a Russian bank through the Letim application.
After November 30, you will need to contact support for a refund. Cash withdrawals and transfers to bank accounts in Turkey as part of the completion of the service are not available.
The reason for the termination of work was not specified.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said that the termination of Letim will not affect the tourist flow to Turkey. According to the association, Russians can pay for goods and services in other non-cash ways, including the Quick Payments System (SBP). At the same time, most tourists continue to use cash, exchanging dollars and euros for Turkish liras.
In April, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia announced the possibility to pay for purchases in Turkey in rubles through the SBP. The service is available in more than 800 locations in the resorts of Antalya, more than 240 in Istanbul and more than 80 on the Aegean coast, as well as in other tourist areas. To pay, you need to scan the QR code of the seller and confirm the transaction in the banking application. The money is written off in rubles, the seller receives Turkish lira.
