The Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri dismissed a civil lawsuit by the sister of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman about sexual assault.

The Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri dismissed a civil lawsuit by the sister of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman about sexual assault. The reason was the failure of the plaintiff to appear for an independent medical examination, despite warnings that this will lead to the closure of the case, writes the NY Post.
Sam Altman is an American entrepreneur and investor, CEO of OpenAI, which created ChatGPT.
Annie Altman filed a lawsuit in federal court in St. Louis, Missouri, in January 2025. She accused her brother of sexual assault and rape between 1997 and 2006 at the family home in a suburb of Clayton, Missouri. According to her, the first episodes occurred when she was three years old and he was 12 years old.
Sam Altman denied the allegations and pointed out that his sister began blaming him on social media after the family rejected her demands for financial support.
In March 2025, he sued his sister for defamation, claiming her "false statements" had damaged his reputation. A judge in March allowed the lawsuit to continue.
In 2023, WP learned of complaints to OpenAI about Altman's psychological abuse. According to the publication, he sometimes pitted employees against each other and could influence the situation of those with whom they had conflicts.
