The Ministry of Education approved the rules for evaluating the behavior of students of 2-8 grades during the experiment in the 2026/27 academic year, reports TASS with reference to a letter from the department.
The result will depend on the amount of points: 24-30 correspond to “exemplary” behavior, 10-23 to “acceptable”, 0-9 to “unacceptable”. Points are awarded for discipline, interaction with peers and adults and other indicators of behavior. Each of them is rated from zero to three.
In case of an “unacceptable” assessment, the class leader must discuss the situation with the parents within three days. The school can also attract a psychological and pedagogical consultation and develop an individual plan for preventive work. Parents have the right to challenge the result through the Dispute Settlement Commission.
The three-tier system of the Ministry of Education was chosen in April. On September 1, 2026, on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, in some schools of all regions, the introduction of assessment for behavior for students of 2-8 grades began. In the academic year 2025/26, the approbation took place in 89 schools. The Office previously explained that the assessment for behavior is set separately from academic performance and does not affect current marks, intermediate certification and admission to the state final certification (GIA).
