Muscovites promised abnormally warm weather over the weekend

In Moscow and the Moscow region, abnormally warm weather is expected over the coming weekend, followed by cooling, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

Abnormally warm weather with a temperature of 6-8 degrees above the climatic norm is expected in Moscow and the region throughout the upcoming weekend. The capital continues to be almost in the center of a large almost immobile anticyclone, which is now covered like a blanket all the western part of the country, — stated in the message.

On Saturday, October 24, the air in the capital will warm up to plus 13 degrees, on Sunday - to plus 12 degrees. On the first day of the weekend, mainly cloudy and dry weather is expected, on the second - clear.

Already on Monday, October 26, the wind will intensify, its gusts will reach 13-14 m / s. Then a gradual decrease in temperature will begin. In the middle of next week, the cooling will come first to the northwestern regions of Russia, and then to Central Russia. It is expected to rain by the end of October.

Earlier, on October 18, forecaster Tatiana Pozdnyakova told RBC that the golden autumn in Moscow and the Moscow region can last until the beginning of November. According to her forecast, this week in the region will remain dry weather with variable cloudiness, but at night frosts are possible.

Leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Evgeny Tishkovets also predicted the preservation of relatively warm weather in Central Russia until the end of October. At the same time, according to him, deep autumn will come to the region in early November.
