The former deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region, Major-General of Internal Service Sergey Malkov, accused of embezzling official motor fuel, was added to charges of receiving a particularly large bribe and illegal creation of a company. This writes TASS with reference to the case materials.
“Malkov is accused of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 160 (particularly large embezzlement), Part 2 of Article 173.1 (illegal formation of a legal entity by a group of persons by prior agreement), Part 3 of Article 285 (abuse of official powers), Part 6 of Article 290 (receiving a bribe in an especially large amount) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the agency quotes an excerpt from the documents.
On September 7, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk said that employees of the GUSB of the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed the theft of fuel from the head of the department for the Moscow region. According to her, the crime involved the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC “EuroTrans” Igor Martyshov, as well as three subordinate top managers with the participation of Malkov.
According to the investigation, due to a shortage of fuel from the warehouses, the volumes of fuel were redirected to the needs of the commercial network of filling stations of PJSC EuroTrans.
The major-general was in jail until September 23, until the court changed the measure of restraint to house arrest. On the eve, October 21, investigators appealed to the court with a petition to change the preventive measure and demanded to return Malkov to the pre-trial detention center.
