The Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) has not confirmed information about more than 200 cases of refusal of Russians to travel abroad due to inconsistency of photos in their foreign passports. About this RBC reported in the organization.
The PCT noted that there were no appeals for such cases from tourists and tour operators.
“Even if the published data are true, against the background of a multimillion-dollar outbound tourist flow, we are talking about a relatively small number of cases. We have no grounds to talk about the mass nature of the problem, the union said.
Travel agents and tour operators can draw the attention of tourists to possible problems with documents, including noticeable discrepancies between photography and appearance. However, such a check does not replace border controls and does not guarantee unimpeded border crossing.
The validity of the documents is assessed by the authorized state bodies, which also decide on the passage across the border
Earlier, the telegram channel Mash reported that over the past six months, more than 200 Russian tourists were unable to travel abroad due to the use of selfies and retouched photos in passports. According to the channel, the reason for the refusals were noticeable differences between the pictures in the documents and the appearance of their owners.
