The court in Syktyvkar found out that the cat opened the tap and flooded neighbors

The cat opened a water tap and poured water into the apartment of neighbors in Syktyvkar. The court recovered from the residents more than 138 thousand rubles of damage and court costs in the amount of 20 thousand rubles, the press service of the Syktyvkar city court of the Republic of Komi reported.

“The cause of the accident was the opening of a water tap as a result of the actions of a cat left unattended,” the publication says.

The plaintiff went to court to recover damages for flooding his apartment. The defendants were the owner of the room and the people who lived there.

The court satisfied the claims against the actual users of the premises and recovered from them jointly and severally damages in the amount of 138 184 rubles and court costs in the amount of 20 344, 42 rubles. In the claim to the owner of the premises refused, — explained in court.

In August, the Moscow City Court recovered 654 thousand rubles from the tenant for damage from the bay of the apartment, which, according to the defendant, was caused by his cat, which opened a water tap with her paw, the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow reported. At the meeting, the defendant said that the cat opened the water tap with its paw, after which the water flooded the neighboring apartment.
