Minecraft creator Marcus Persson, nicknamed Notch, put up for sale for $70 million mansion in Beverly Hills, which in 2014 wanted to buy Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Then the Swedish programmer offered more star couple and bought the property for the same amount, which now expects to get. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing agents representing the object.
According to one of them, Aaron Kirman of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California, Persson has rarely been to Los Angeles lately and intends to sell the house. The developer himself did not respond to the newspaper's request for comment.
The mansion with an area of about 2.1 thousand square meters. m is located in the Truzdale Estates area. It has eight bedrooms and two swimming pools, one of which belongs to the master bedroom. The house overlooks downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. After the purchase, Persson equipped a multi-million-dollar recording studio and a nightclub with a DJ remote, bar and dance floor.
Agent Branden Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates told WSJ that Persson often hosted guests and invited famous artists to record in his studio. The house was built by developer Bruce Makowski – initially for subsequent sale, and not for a specific customer.
Over the years, many larger and more expensive mansions have appeared in the Los Angeles market. According to Kirman, the segment of luxury real estate in the United States has become less active. "We no longer charge prices for what we want," he said, explaining the cost approach.
