Members of an organized criminal group accused of fraud under the pretext of teaching modeling will be put on trial.
According to the investigation, until August 2024, the accused, together with persons not identified at the moment and passing on a separate criminal case, launched the work of the model agency ETA. Promising training in acting, modeling and vocal skills, as well as guaranteed employment in the field of modeling and cinema, they persuaded citizens to sign loan agreements to pay for services. At the same time, the defendants only imitated the legitimate activities of the agency, independently processing loan applications for clients.
As a result of illegal actions, 47 girls from Voronezh and the Voronezh region suffered, from whom more than 4.5 million rubles were stolen.
The Prosecutor’s office of the Central district of Voronezh approved the indictment in the criminal case against six residents of Voronezh and Moscow. They are charged with Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale). The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to 10 years.
The criminal case was transferred to the Central District Court of Voronezh for consideration on the merits.
