Activists of the Belarusian youth public organization of firefighters were awarded in Minsk

The festive event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Belarusian Youth Public Organization of Firefighters and Rescuers was held at the Educational Center for Life Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on October 16, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

BMOSP is a unique association of boys and girls who are passionate about the noble cause of helping people, saving their lives. The history of the organization began on October 14, 2001, when a unified youth movement of rescuers was created with the support of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Since then, the organization has grown into a powerful republican structure with branches in every region of the country, uniting thousands of active and purposeful children.

Today, the brightest and most talented young men and women from all regions of Belarus and Minsk gathered in Minsk, as well as teachers and specialists who instill in the children the values of goodness, mutual assistance and patriotism. The capital was represented by a team of young rescuers-firefighters "Legion" - one of the strongest and most titled in the BMOSP. Its representative Rada Zublevskaya, a student of secondary school No. 53, has been participating in the youth movement of firefighters for three years.

- It was a really fruitful time. I've changed a lot, I've grown up and I've gained important safety skills. We know how to act correctly, rationally and can teach other people, for example, the rules of medical care.

Another representative of the “Legion” Bozhena Grigorieva is studying in the capital’s gymnasium No. 36. Like the Rada, she repeatedly participated in city and republican competitions.

- When I became a member of the BMOSP, I never regretted it. Let me give you an example. Once I was walking with friends in the park and noticed that the girl became ill and she fainted. We immediately ran up, I gave her first aid, and she woke up. We called an ambulance and stayed with the girl until the doctors arrived. At that time, my knowledge of medical training helped me a lot, I gained an unforgettable life experience, Grigorieva recalled.

Both girls admitted that they have not yet decided on the choice of a future profession, but were in solidarity in the fact that the knowledge obtained in the BMOSP will be very useful in the future.

As Minister of Emergency Situations Vadim Sinyavsky emphasized in his speech, for a quarter of a century the Ministry managed to build a systematic work with young people:

- The movement has lived and developed for 25 years and is expanding. Today BMOSP unites more than 33 thousand active, creative, sports and caring young men and women. And that, I think, is the most important achievement.

Of course, we teach children how to behave in a difficult situation. Through game forms, various contests, meetings, both national and international, we introduce them to a healthy lifestyle. We teach them real values. They visit places of military glory, learn how to love the Motherland, our Republic of Belarus, and how to protect it.

You guys are not only the youth face of the Ministry of Emergency Management, but also his future and, of course, the future of our country.

Then V. Sinyavsky presented the awards to the most active participants of the youth movement, teachers and specialists.

The award ceremony was also attended by the head of the Main Department of Ideological, Educational Work and Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education Viktor Dovnar and the chairman of the Republican Council of BMOOSP - Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations Sergey Salanovich.

The welcoming speech was addressed to the children by the head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee Alexander Lukyanov, who in the past was an active participant of the BMOSP.

- I am always proud and responsible for this status. I really want you to remember this time, remember your teachers and always be grateful to them. Of course, a special thanks to your family and friends who help you in your quest to be useful. The president of our country has already stressed that the future is in your hands. You may not understand it yet, but you are already influencing the development of our state, Lukyanov said. In the cohort of public organizations, political associations, BMOSP occupies a special place. You come here by calling, you want to be useful, you want to help people. This is the highest form of patriotism.
