Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the NWFD Igor Rudenya visited the St. Petersburg JSC Power Machines. There they held a meeting on the development of power engineering and new technologies for the country. This was reported on the official website of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District.
Together with the management of the enterprise, officials inspected the production shops of the Leningrad Metal Plant. The main topic of the meeting is strengthening technological sovereignty and replacing imported equipment.
The plant already produces equipment that has no analogues in Russia. As part of the national project “New Nuclear and Energy Technologies”, initiated by the Head of State, Power Machines is ready to supply its own gas turbine units for modernization and replacement of imported analogues in the energy sector.
The leading achievement was the creation of the country's first slow-moving turbine with a capacity of 1,255 MW. Based on this development, a new nuclear power plant unit was launched in early 2026. This event marked significant progress in the field of Russian mechanical engineering. The company also plans to produce equipment for the modernization of coal energy in Russia.
