American reconnaissance aircraft Bombardier ARTEMIS II for more than three hours circled along the borders of the Kaliningrad region. This is evidenced by the data studied by RIA Novosti flight trackers.
The plane took off from the Romanian air base "Mikhail Kogalniceanu" at 9:42 Moscow time. He headed to the borders of the region in a wide arc. Moving along a circular trajectory along the area, the board was there from 11:53 to 15:12 MSK, after which it headed back to base.
It is noted that this aircraft was converted by the American company Leidos from a business jet to the needs of radar reconnaissance and received the military name ARTEMIS II. It is regularly used for flights around the Kaliningrad region, as well as over the Black Sea along the Crimea and other southern regions of Russia.
In recent years, Russia has seen unprecedented NATO activity on its western borders. The alliance is expanding its initiatives, calling it “deterring Russian aggression.” Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the buildup of NATO forces in Europe. Russia remains open to dialogue with NATO, but on an equal basis, and called on the West to abandon the course of militarization of the continent.
Earlier we wrote that Polyansky called the NATO exercises near Kaliningrad “a direct threat.”.
