“Belposhta” in the village: how to keep the offices and how much they pay postmen

About how much postmen earn and how the efficiency of post offices in rural areas increases, on the air of the program “Economic Environment” on the channel “Belarus 1” told the General Director of RUE “Belposhta” Svetlana Yurkevich, writes sb.by.

The head of the department stressed that the company pays special attention to the preservation and modernization of regional infrastructure, more than 80% of which is located in rural areas

- We are not going down the path of closing or simplifying facilities. We must provide a full range of services and the standard set by the state. Our main goal is to increase the efficiency of this infrastructure, including through non-core services.

One of the most successful areas of increasing the profitability of post offices in the regions was retail trade. Today, all rural postal facilities are included in the official commercial register of the country.

- In general, for the year it is more than 250 million (Belarusian rubles). - Editor's note. This is a rather significant amount, including on the state scale, Svetlana Yurkevych stressed.

In total, of the 3,000 operating facilities that are part of Belposhta, about 2,000 are located directly in the village. In addition, the company serves 1.2 thousand delivery routes in rural areas, their cars reach each village.

During the conversation, the general director of Belposhta answered the question about how much employees of the postal service earn today. She reminded that higher education is not a prerequisite for this profession. During the summer holidays, young people are actively trained at the enterprise.

- During this season, we have more than 800 fighters of student detachments. Of course, they performed less time-consuming and less responsible work, Svetlana Yurkevich noted. As for full-time employees, their income depends on the amount of work performed and seasonal factors. In subscription periods, it happens that the salary of the postman reaches 2.5 thousand. Our system is built in such a way that for certain work, for example, for subscription or trading, they receive additional remuneration.
