In Kaliningrad, a major overhaul of a multi-access historic building, located at the corner of Brahms, 39 and Dimitrov, 5-19 streets, has been completed. This was reported by the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Alexey Bezprozvanny in his channel MAX.
The house was built in 1929 in the era of functionalism, when brick decor prevailed. During the war years, the building was badly damaged, but retained its characteristic features. In the 1950s, it was restored, and thanks to the work of Soviet builders and architects, the house found a second life - so elements of Stalinist architecture appeared on the building.
The specialists faced a difficult task: to reconcile elements of completely different eras and styles. Serious technical work was also required. Workers fixed cracks in the old walls, restored brickwork and strengthened balcony slabs.
In total, the regional overhaul program includes more than seven thousand houses built before 1945. Each of them takes an individual approach to preserve the historical heritage for future generations.
Earlier it was reported that the regional prosecutor assessed the progress of repairing the school and kindergarten in Gusev.
