Road safety in autumn: in Belarus, the traffic police will hold an action “Time to become noticeable!” on the prevention of accidents

In the autumn period, a significant impact on the state of accidents on the roads has a reduction in daylight hours and worsening weather conditions. Taking into account the seasonality and in order to prevent accidents involving vulnerable road users, the republican preventive action “Time to Be Noticeable” will be held in Belarus from October 25 to 31. – Traffic police officers will strengthen supervision of road traffic with the conduct of workouts of emergency dangerous sections of roads and streets of settlements, unregulated pedestrian crossings during peak hours of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users. Particular attention will be paid to their physical condition. Information and explanatory work will continue among the population with bringing the main threats to security in the dark, the need to use retroreflective elements and high-visibility clothing, responsibility for committing offenses, the rules of safe behavior at pedestrian crossings and when driving on personal mobility means, Kirill Kostyuk, deputy head of the traffic police and prevention department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, revealed details.
