More than 200 IT students will be trained at Smolensk Financial University

On the basis of the Financial University in Smolensk, a large-scale state project “Code of the Future”, initiated by the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Russia, was launched. This program is implemented within the framework of the federal project “Personnel for Digital Transformation”, which is part of the national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State”.

The project involves more than 200 people, including schoolchildren of grades 8-11 and students of IT-specialties of colleges from all over the Smolensk region. The free training is designed for eight months and is aimed at mastering Python programming in the field of information security. During the program, participants will learn the basic principles of cryptography, data protection methods, ways to analyze and repel phishing and DDoS attacks, as well as the rules of safe behavior in the network and the basics of digital hygiene.

Classes are held in modern computer classes of the Financial University, which has become the official regional platform of the project. Mentors of students are not only university professors, but also invited experts - practitioners of cybersecurity. The implementation of such a large-scale project confirms the status of Smolensk Financial University as a key center for the development of digital competencies in the region.

At the end of the course, graduates will receive personalized certificates of the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Russia and their first professional portfolio to start in the IT industry. In addition, for the successful completion of the program, it is possible to obtain from 5 to 10 additional points to the exam when entering Russian universities.

The project curator, Deputy Director of the Financial University in Smolensk A.V. Mosiychuk, noted the enormous interest of young people in cybersecurity. Today, this direction is not just a popular trend, but basic digital literacy and a real request from employers.
