More than 11.5 thousand children study in the capital art schools, in 2026 2 166 children started classes. This was told on the air of the program “Speaks and shows Minsk” by the head of the department of culture of the Minsk City Executive Committee Ekaterina Luchina, the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” reports.

According to her, a system for the education of young talents has been built in the capital.

- The activities of children's art schools are of great importance for the educational system of the republic. Belarus has a three-level model of creative personnel training recognized by the world professional community: children's art schools, specialized secondary educational institutions, universities. In accordance with the Code on Education, our DSI, unlike other institutions, prepare students on an artistic profile at an increased level, said E. Luchina. There are 26 children’s art schools in Minsk: 20 musical, three artistic, one choreographic and two multidisciplinary, where training is conducted in a variety of areas.

- If we talk about popular destinations, the music sector is traditionally the most popular piano, guitar and saxophone - the competition often reaches two people per place. In art schools this year, the competition was three people per place. But the absolute leader was pop vocals: the competition reached ten people per place, said E. Lucina.
