More than 300,000 Belarusians received electronic property tax notices

In Belarus, the number of citizens who receive notices on property taxes in electronic form is growing. This year, their number has more than doubled compared to last year. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Main Department of Taxation of Individuals of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Denis Tereshkov at a press conference in BelTA, writes sb.by.

In total, the tax authorities sent more than 3.6 million notices to taxpayers this year. At the same time, the electronic format allows you not to depend on the delivery of mail and store information about accruals in your personal account.

- This year, we have seen more than a twofold increase in the number of payers who receive electronic notifications. Today it is more than 300 thousand citizens. Of course I'd like more. A personal account is a guarantee that you will receive a notification. In addition, the payer has the right to enter an email address, and the notice will be duplicated there. It will not be lost and will always be at hand. Sending a simple postal item is not always effective. Citizens can get a notice and lose it, or throw it away along with advertisements that also come to the mailbox. Or the box can be opened, its contents seized, and the payer will not receive notice. The personal account of the payer is a guarantee that the notice will be received, will remain, and there will always be an opportunity to contact him and see what amount is presented for payment, Denis Tereshkov said.

You can find out the amount of property taxes in the personal account of the payer on the MTS website or through the ERIP. The notice also provides a QR code for quick payment.

- As a rule, the vast majority of taxpayers pay tax through ERIP. The notice indicates the ERIP service code. There is also a QR code for quick payment, which will usually automatically take you to a banking app or internet banking page. All the details will already be made, the payer will just need to familiarize himself with the amount and press the “pay” button, the representative of the MTS explained.
