More than 40 species were excluded from the Red Book of the Lipetsk region

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Lipetsk region met students of the Metallurgical Institute of LSTU. The guests are well acquainted with chemistry, so a conversation about the biology of the plants and animals of the region was prepared for the meeting.

Particular attention was paid to changes in the Red Book of the region. When it was reissued in 2025, more than 40 species were excluded from the list. Among them are 11 species of insects, 8 species of birds and 3 species of fish, as well as representatives of fungi, mosses, lichens and vascular plants.

Why these species are no longer included in the Red Book, the experts of the Ministry told the students.
