More than 5 thousand wild animals died on the roads of Belarus last year – Ministry of Forestry

In 2025, more than 5 thousand wild animals died in an accident. This was told by the head of the hunting department of the Ministry of Forestry of Belarus Alexander Kozorez, reports sb.by.

- Forest dwellers are on the road from time to time. Most often, deer are under the wheels of cars - last year about 3 thousand. More than a thousand moose also died. This is a large animal, so collision with it threatens to damage the car, injuries and death of passengers.

Especially dangerous cloven-hoofed in the autumn, when there is a mating period. Males lose natural caution and actively move. Drivers should be very careful, warns Alexander Kozorez:

- In September, there is a peak accident involving deer and moose. In October, the probability decreases significantly and increases again from late April to the first half of June. At this time, young deer, moose and deer are expelled from their families and develop new habitats.
