More than 6 thousand children in the Tula region received SNILS through public services

Since the beginning of 2026, the Department of the Social Fund of Russia in the Tula region has automatically issued more than 6 thousand insurance numbers of the individual personal account (SNILS) for newborns. The procedure is carried out after the registration of the birth of the child in the registry office, so parents do not need to submit a separate application.

Information about the assigned number goes to the personal account of the mother on the portal "State Services". At the same time, SNILS is no longer issued in the form of the usual green plastic card: the document exists in digital format. If necessary, the notification can be printed independently or contact the client service of the regional branch of the FIU for it.

Andrey Filippov, Head of the SFR’s Tula Region Branch, stressed that SNILS is necessary for a person from the first days of life. The number is used to attach to the clinic, register with the doctor, prepare documents for visiting kindergarten and sports sections, as well as receive benefits, payments and other support measures. In the future, it will be necessary for employment and the formation of insurance experience.

In order for the notification of the child’s SNILS to appear in the mother’s personal account, her account on “State Services” must be confirmed. The Social Fund recommends that you check this in advance, even during pregnancy. It is also important to monitor the relevance of personal data in the profile. For example, if a woman changed her surname, but did not update the information on the portal, information about the SNILS of a newborn may not appear in her office.

If the mother does not have a confirmed account or she is not at all registered on the "State Services", you can issue SNILS of the child in the client service of the SFR Department in the Tula region. This will require a parent’s passport and birth certificate of the baby. The number will be provided on the same day in electronic form or in the form of an extract.

A similar procedure is provided for families with children who returned to Russia after a long stay abroad. If the child has already received a passport, he can issue SNILS independently, without the participation of parents.
