More than 61 thousand people are members of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishers

More than 61 thousand people are now members of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen - this was stated by the Chairman of the RGOO "BOOR" Igor Shunevich at the Congress of this public organization, reported sb.by in the BOOR.

Igor Shunevich said:

- Today, BOR consists of more than 61 thousand people: about 27 thousand amateur fishermen, more than 32 thousand hunters and fishermen and more than a thousand young members of society. Last year alone, 4,100 people joined the association. At the same time, out of 93,000 citizens of Belarus who have a hunting license, 46 thousand people paid the state duty on the right to hunt last year, and about 71 percent of them are members of the BOAR.

The chairman of the public association also noted that the number of hunters and fishermen in the country is gradually decreasing, and traditional hobbies are being replaced by other forms of leisure.
