More than 82% of Belarusians rated their family’s financial situation as “good”. This follows from the data of a comprehensive republican sociological study on topical issues of social and economic development of Belarus, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
Alexey Avdonin, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Society “Knowledge”, noted that the number of respondents who make cash savings in Belarusian rubles (28.1%) indicates the stability of the national currency, trust in it and confidence in the financial and credit policy of the National Bank.
Ah. Avdonin also drew attention to the global trend, which is associated with economic behavior focused on the consumption of goods.
- We continue this trend. According to the answers, 41.3% of respondents spend all the money and do not save, 33.4% use the possibility of installments / credit. This is no exception purely for our Belarusian nation, BelTA quoted Avdonin as saying.

According to him, this global trend indicates that people focus on the consumption of goods and the use of credit because of confidence in the future. They are confident that they will be able to ensure a stable future and a decent socio-economic situation for their families and children through wages.
Another significant indicator: 12.4% of respondents direct free funds to bank deposits. For the world economy, this is a high level, which indicates confidence in the banking system. It also allows Belarusians to receive a stable passive income.
When asked how you assess the financial situation of your family, 82.2% of respondents noted as good, 17.7% as bad. In addition, 82.1% of respondents are satisfied with their current job, 17.9% are not satisfied.

When asked about the most important priorities in life, 54.3% of respondents chose the option of “earning a lot, even if you have to work very hard”, and 37.3% – “have a little income, but more free time and easier work”.

Respondents were also asked if they knew the exact value of the main products they were constantly buying. 80.6% of respondents answered affirmatively, 19.1% - negatively.
Another question was whether there was enough money for daily and large expenses. Thus, 93.6% of respondents responded positively to food, 5.1% - negatively. 89.5% of respondents have enough money for rent and utilities, 4.9% lack it.

79.6% of respondents have enough money for clothes and shoes, and 16.1% chose that there is not enough money for this. For alcohol and tobacco products, 35.1% said they could afford it, 6.3% said they couldn’t, and 56.6% said they didn’t spend money on it.

When asked what they or their family have done to improve their lives over the past five years, 36.7% of respondents indicated that they have renovated an apartment or house, 31.8% purchased durable goods, 26.4% went on vacation, etc.
In July - August 2026, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus commissioned by BISI conducted a comprehensive republican sociological study. It was attended by 2,045 respondents from all regions of the country.
