More than 863 thousand Tatarstan residents have established a self-ban on loans

In Tatarstan since the beginning of March of this year, more than 863 thousand residents have used the mechanism of self-banning loans. Such data at a press conference on fraud on the Internet, led the head of the Department of information security of the Ministry of digital Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Badykov.

Of the total number of citizens who decided to limit the possibility of obtaining loans in their name, more than 83 thousand issued a service through multifunctional centers.

Self-prohibition is a relatively new tool to protect against the actions of intruders who are increasingly trying to issue loans in someone else’s name using personal data leaks. Having established a ban, the citizen actually blocks the ability of banks and microfinance organizations to issue loans to him without additional confirmation.
