More than 98% of Belarusians do not want to go abroad for permanent residence. This is evidenced by the results of the republican sociological research, which concerns topical issues of social and economic development of Belarus, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

When asked if you would like to go abroad, only 1.7% of respondents said that they would like to leave for permanent residence. This means that the vast majority - more than 98% - would not want to leave.
At the same time, 48.6% of respondents would like to leave for tourism, recreation, visiting relatives. 48.1% have no such plans, BelTA said.
Commenting on the results of the sociological study, the head of the analytical center EcooM Sergey Musienko, in particular, drew attention to the tourist potential of Belarus, as well as good opportunities for sanatorium and resort treatment in the country.
In July - August 2026, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus commissioned by BISI conducted a comprehensive republican sociological study. It was attended by 2,045 respondents from all regions of the country. The first part of the results of the social research, which deals with topical issues of social and economic development of Belarus, was presented in Minsk today.
