More than half a million residents of the Yaroslavl region annually receive social support

Over the past five years, 74 billion rubles have been sent to help residents of the Yaroslavl region. More than 500 thousand people use various social support measures every year. Governor Mikhail Evraev spoke about the development of the regional assistance system.

The authorities pay special attention to the elderly, families with children and citizens who find themselves in difficult life situations. To increase the availability of assistance in the region, the Social Code is regularly updated and social institutions are being developed. In Rostov the Great started working family multifunctional center, which has already appealed to thousands of people. Mobile teams provide assistance at home to those who find it difficult to reach specialists on their own.

In the social and health center "Chaika" there are new buildings for rest and treatment of children, including those with disabilities. For parents of young children, there are rental points for necessary things and the service "Social Nanny", designed for families with children under three years old.

The development of institutions for the elderly and citizens with disabilities continues. In 2023, according to the national project “Demography”, a new sleeping building of the Nekrasov boarding house was built. At the same time, the system of long-term care is expanding, allowing people to receive the necessary assistance without leaving their usual home environment. Hundreds of people in the region have already benefited from this service. In 2026, children from four to 17 years old who were diagnosed with disability for the first time this year are undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation with the use of electronic certificates.

Social contracts have become an important tool for supporting employment and self-employment. Since 2021, more than 10,000 such agreements have been concluded in the region. They help citizens to start their own business, develop a personal subsidiary farm or find work.

Payments to families with children are also expanding. This year, new measures were introduced to support new mothers and families in which a third or subsequent child was born. More than 1,300 families have already received assistance. Pregnant students are now paid 100 thousand rubles, regardless of the form of study.

For large families, the accounting of per capita income was canceled when assigning payment to school uniforms. In 2026, its size after indexation is 5523 rubles. Since the beginning of the year, payment has been provided to more than 15,000 families.

Additional measures also apply to parents of newborns. Under the action “Hi, baby!” families are given sets with the necessary things for child care. A total of about 40 thousand sets were issued. Since January 1, 2026, a commemorative medal “Born on the Yaroslavl Land” has also appeared in the region – it was received by families with more than five thousand newborns.

A separate direction of regional policy is related to the support of family values. Since 2024, married couples who have lived together for 50, 55, 60 or 65 years have been honored in the region. As a token of gratitude, the jubilees are given gifts from the governor - tea sets with the symbols of the region.
