On September 12, 2011, the President signed Decree No. 409 on the formation of the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

The formation of the new body was a historic event not only for the Belarusian law enforcement system, but also for the whole country. Today, the committee is a unique structure that has no analogues in the world. Over 15 years, investigators have accepted more than 2 million complaints about crimes from citizens, according to the results of which almost 1.3 million criminal cases were initiated. More than 660,000 crimes have been investigated. The protection of citizens’ rights, the law, and national interests continues 24/7.

About the case, the completion of which is proud, recalls the investigator for especially important cases of the Partizan district department of the Investigative Committee of Minsk Oksana Furs:

The defendants in the criminal case in 2021 were two Minsk residents with speech and hearing impairments. They forced deaf mutes to beg for money in trains, to sell souvenirs. Revenue should have been given to extortionists. Those who did not agree to such conditions were abducted and taken to cellars, where they were beaten. In one case, a victim who had just recovered from such torture was dragged out of a taxi and abducted again. His mother then insisted on filing a complaint with the police, and a criminal case was opened. The complexity of the investigation was due not only to the fact that the victims, due to their physical characteristics, could not fully describe the details of the crimes for a long time, and moreover, many of them were afraid of revenge and refused to testify. Fortunately, me and my colleagues from the police managed to find an approach, worked quickly and coherently.

The reserve is located on the shore of the second largest natural lake in Belarus - Osveysky, formed after the retreat of the Valdai glacier about 10-14,000 years ago. According to one version, Osveya in translation means “sacred mouth”, which ancestors considered nothing more than an entrance to a parallel world.

Director of the reserve Igor Romanyuk notes:

- There are a lot of tourists. This season has already taken about 4.5 thousand people. Tours for the summer were sold out in winter. Every day we have groups, independent tourists. There are also conditions for a multi-day rest. On the coastline, glamps are installed with a view of Lake Osvey, a sanitary module is equipped, boats are delivered to the island of Du.

The territory of the reserve is huge - more than 30.5 thousand hectares. Excursion routes are diverse, for all seasons. This is a system of lakes, the key of which is Osveyskoye, and an uninhabited island, and forest masses with natural monuments, and the recreation area "Mayak", from which a magnificent view of Lake Lisno opens.

The core of the reserve is the glacial lake Osveyskoe. The depth is from 2 to 7.5 m. Beautiful, rich in fish and very peculiar. In inclement weather with strong wind waves can reach a height of up to 1.5 m.

- We have “registered” the largest colony of gray gulls in the country. The bird is red-book. Smart, plastic - adapts well to different conditions. Recently, it has been developed in settlements. But we, on the lake, it is especially hearty and calm, says Igor Romanyuk.

What is the largest bird of prey lives in the reserve and what village existed on the island 500 years ago, learn in the new issue of the newspaper “SB Week”.

In the heart of Belarus, at the entrance to the ancient agro-town of Rakov, for more than five centuries, a key has been beating from the ground, to which popular rumor ascribes miraculous power.

At 35 kilometers from the capital, at the very congress from the highway Minsk - Grodno, there is a hydrological monument of nature "Rakovsky". Its history goes back to the XV century and is inextricably linked with the legend of the miracle. Rumor preserves many variations of this tradition, but the rector of the Transfiguration Church in Rakov, Archpriest Sergius Lepin, reveals the depth of history transmitted from mouth to mouth for six centuries:

- In Rakova there lived a man in whom all the sorrows that exist were concentrated. Everything in his life was difficult, and one day he was blind. According to one version, at the behest of the Mother of God, he went to the outskirts, found an icon there - and at the place of finding the shrine began to beat the source. On the other hand, in a fit of despair, not having the strength to live on, he left Rakov. He got lost, tired, hungry and began to pray to the Most Holy Mother of God, so that she would bring him out, forgive the cowards. I suddenly felt my feet in the water. He washed, washed, drank, and saw. And near the source stood an icon.

The news of the miracle instantly spread around the neighborhood. People reached for Cancer to venerate the icon, and soon a wooden chapel was built on the site of the phenomenon in honor of the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord. Namely, this event, emphasizes Father Sergius, turned Rakov into a center of pilgrimage.

Over time, the meaning of reverence for the shrine deepened. From the prayers for the healing of the eyes, believers moved to the petition for spiritual insight.
