The former head of the administration of Zernograd could not appeal the sentence
Rostov Regional Court upheld four years of a general regime colony and a two-year ban on holding public office for a former official

The Rostov Regional Court upheld four years of a general regime colony and a two-year ban on holding public office for the former official. About this portal DonDay reported in the Prosecutor’s office of the Rostov region.
At the end of July, the Zernograd district court found Irina Polishchuk guilty under the article “Excess of official powers”. She was sentenced to four years of imprisonment with serving her sentence in a general regime correctional colony. In addition, Polishchuk was banned from holding public posts for two years.
With the decision of the district court, the official did not agree and decided to appeal the verdict. The complaint was filed with the Rostov Regional Court at the end of September. A month later, the appeal issued a decision: the verdict of the court of first instance was upheld.
The scandal around the head of the administration of Zernograd occurred in October 2024. Then the official was detained on suspicion of exceeding official powers. As reported by the source of the portal DonDay, Irina Polishchuk accepted the work at a deliberately inflated price: the documents were prescribed dim repairs, and in fact graded, which is cheaper. In addition, the rubble was used not at the expense of the contractor, but at the expense of the city.
She entered the post of head of the city administration in 2021 on the recommendation of the Graingrad branch of the CPRF. In 2023, Polishchuk was re-elected to this post.
The sentence has entered into force.
