The number of attacks of pets on people decreased in the Kirov region

According to the regional veterinary department, now residents keep about 101,000 pets, while the regulatory authorities identify about 2,000 different violations of the rules of care and walking.

To remedy the situation, the relevant agency implements a large-scale set of measures. They are aimed at preventing violations of veterinary legislation and promoting responsible attitude towards wards.

As noted in the Department of veterinary medicine of the Kirov region, the key priority in the work of specialists remains the prevention and prevention of any risks to the health of citizens.

At the same time, experts still call the most acute problem uncontrolled self-exercise of four-leggeds.

Experts draw attention to the fact that the free movement of dogs without supervision creates a direct threat to the safety of passers-by, especially children and the elderly, and often leads to injury or death of pets.

A special “road map” has been introduced in each municipality of the region to systematically resolve the issue. The plan includes regular inspection raids, preventive talks and educational activities for schoolchildren and their parents.

Special emphasis is placed on the younger generation.

The thematic school classes called “Lessons of Kindness” are designed to teach children proper, safe behavior when meeting animals and instill in them a culture of caring for our smaller brothers.

In order to promptly suppress the facts of unsupervised walking, Kirov residents can apply to the district Unified Dispatch Service.

All incoming signals are promptly sent to local authorities, after which specialists establish the owner or transfer the application for catching and transporting a quadruped to a temporary detention center.

Along with walking controls, the law obliges owners to label and register their pets. On the territory of the Kirov region organized a state program that allows you to chip dogs for free.

Another important component of veterinary safety is the annual free vaccination against rabies and other dangerous infections common to humans and animals.

Timely registration, installation of a microchip and regular vaccinations confirm the integrity of the owner and full compliance with the established legal norms.

Systemic prevention and interdepartmental cooperation are already bearing tangible results: in the Kirov region, the number of incidents with bites is steadily decreasing, and the volume of administrative cases and appeals related to improper maintenance of pets is decreasing.
