What is due to those whose work experience began before 1991
There is no automatic increase during the Soviet years, but there are legal ways to increase payments. We tell you how not to lose your experience when calculating your pension.

Many citizens, whose work biography began in the USSR, often wonder: are they entitled to special payments for this period? The fact of working before 1991 does not guarantee an automatic federal allowance. However, these years do not disappear without a trace and directly affect the size of your pension accruals.
How the "Soviet" years increase pensions
Work periods before 1991 (and until 2002 in general) are taken into account when assessing your retirement entitlements. The total amount is affected not only by the experience itself, but also the amount of earnings in those years, as well as subsequent insurance premiums. That is why old work books and archival certificates have real financial value. If suddenly some years “fall out” of the calculation, do not be silent: contact the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) to recheck your pension case.
Path to Work Veteran Status
A solid experience is an important step towards obtaining the title of “Veteran of Labor”. But the duration of the work is not enough. You will need departmental awards, diplomas or state insignia. If you meet the criteria, your region can offer significant support: compensation for housing costs, preferential travel and other social bonuses. The conditions are different everywhere, so the rules need to be clarified in the local social protection.
What do you do right now?
Don't let it go. Contact the SFR and ask to check if all periods of your work activity are taken into account. The main trump card is your work book. If it is lost or the records in it are fuzzy, you will have to raise archives: request extracts from orders or certificates from former jobs.
