What awaits convicts after release: support programs will be developed in the Ulyanovsk region
In the Ulyanovsk region, convicts will be able to receive additional psychological and social support to prepare for the return to normal life

In the Ulyanovsk region, convicts will receive additional psychological and social support to prepare for their return to normal life. The corresponding agreement was concluded by the institutions of the regional FSIN and the integrated social service center “Trust”.
The document was signed by representatives of the prison of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Ulyanovsk region, the station operating under it, functioning as a correctional center (UFIC), and the regional social service institution “Trust”.
The cooperation includes the development and implementation of programs that will help convicts regain social skills and prepare for independent life after serving their sentence.
One of the main areas will be psychological assistance. Specialists will work on reducing anxiety, improving emotional state and forming readiness to return to society.
In addition, joint activities involve the development of personal qualities and skills necessary for successful social adaptation. Such support is expected to help people cope with difficulties after release.
Special attention will be paid to the prevention of repeated crimes. Work with convicts will be carried out within the framework of the probation system, which provides assistance in resocialization and return to a law-abiding life.
The regional Federal Penitentiary Service expects that interaction with the social institution will make rehabilitation work more complex and increase the effectiveness of preparing convicts for release.
