Center for preventive disinfection: most of the objects inhabited by rodents are in the housing stock

The fight against synanthropic rodents and insects was discussed on October 16 at a meeting of the working group on the maintenance and improvement of the city territory under the leadership of Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Oleg Korzun, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Specialists of the Center for Preventive Disinfection constantly analyze the situation in the city. It is reflected on special maps, which allows you to track the dynamics of the spread of synanthropic rodents and insects in space and time.

- Our company, as part of the health service of Minsk, has everything necessary to implement high-quality and effective measures for deratization and disinsection. We produce baits according to 78 recipes, the director of the center Irina Golotik detailed.

The expert noted that the vast majority of objects inhabited by rodents are residential buildings, and not organizations of trade and catering. When pests are detected, they work not only with a specific house, but also expose the so-called long poisoning points nearby, forming a kind of sanitary cordon around it. This model is also used for construction projects.

An equally important component is the work with applications coming through the service "115".

- As a rule, even before they arrive, we already know about the problem, said I. Golotik.

This year, the dynamics of appeals generally corresponds to the picture of the past. At the same time, the director of the center noted that statistics do not always reflect the scale of the problem due to the repeatability of applications, when several citizens living in it can simultaneously apply for the same house. And since specialists use means of cumulative action, citizens can beat the alarm, and not suspecting that deratization in the process and poisons are already working.

As for the structure of applications, the speaker detailed, in rodents and insects parity. In the context of the latter became less by 4% against the figure a year earlier appeals about fleas.

Complicating the work of specialists in the field is not always the safe sanitary condition of the areas to be treated, the features of the basement, replete with holes, niches, channels for communications, and in some cases the lack of access to them.

“The fight against synanthropic rodents and insects is a common task of the sanitary and utilities service, hence the importance of constant improvement of interaction by all participants in the process,” O. Korzun emphasized.

A great role is given to the organization of preventive measures. One of its aspects is the conservation of garbage pipelines. And in the near future, the Minsk City Executive Committee will host a working meeting of hygienists, representatives of the Center for Preventive Disinfection, housing and communal services enterprises, other approaches interested in reconciliation and overall coordination of activities. A separate order of O. Korzun: within a month to work out measures to limit the redirection of applications received by the service "115", from one contractor to another.

The work should be carried out comprehensively and with full responsibility. The effect is important, the deputy chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee summed up.
