In Angarsk, a 57-year-old man turned out to be a defendant in a criminal case after he officially admitted himself to be the father of three girls, who in fact was a grandfather. This was reported in the IC in the Irkutsk region.
According to investigators, the unusual family scheme was necessary in order for the mother of the children, illegally staying in Russia, was able to obtain Russian citizenship. It is established that the man agreed in advance with the foreigner and issued paternity over all three granddaughters. Thanks to this, in 2022, the girls were recognized as Russian citizens by birth, and their mother subsequently received a Russian passport. Investigators believe that citizenship was acquired illegally.
The story didn't end there. In March 2024, the woman applied for state benefits for her daughters. From April 2024 to March 2025, she received more than 23 thousand rubles of social payments, which, according to investigators, was not entitled to.
