Denis Pasler said that the region was the first in the country to complete gasification
Nizhny Tagil became the first city in Russia, where in the framework of the project “Clean air” completed the work on the transfer of private houses to gas heating

More than 2,000 homes
The Sverdlovsk region was the first in Russia to complete activities within the framework of the federal project “Clean Air” of the national project “Environmental Well-being” for the transfer of private houses to gas heating. This was reported by Governor Denis Pasler.
The federal Clean Air project is being implemented in 12 Russian cities, including Nizhny Tagil. More than 480 million rubles were allocated to the Sverdlovsk municipality from 2023 to 2026 to transfer households to gas heating.
"GAZEX" transferred in Nizhny Tagil from furnace to gas heating more than 2 thousand houses. It is important that by the beginning of this heating season, gas workers provided residents with economical and environmentally friendly fuel. Experts brought gas to the borders of land plots for free, and a subsidy from the federal budget was provided for the connection, Denis Pasler said. More than 8 thousand citizens switched to gas heating as part of the Clean Air project.
High rates of gasification became possible due to the coordinated work of contractors, active participation of residents and control by regional authorities. Transfer of private homes from coal and furnace heating to gas has a double effect: reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere and increasing the comfort and safety of people’s lives.
15 billion rubles
In addition, other measures are being implemented in Nizhny Tagil to improve the environmental situation. In particular, industrial production is being modernized.
The 16 largest enterprises of Nizhny Tagil are investing in environmental projects. They modernized production facilities, built and reconstructed wastewater treatment plants, introduced modern technologies. The total volume of their investments exceeded 15 billion rubles.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Sverdlovsk region, 20 out of 27 planned activities were carried out at objects of I and II categories located in Nizhny Tagil. The total reduction of emissions from confirmed activities is estimated at 20,425 tons per year. The completion of a number of other activities is scheduled before the end of 2026.
The implementation of these measures is the result of systematic work of the regional government, federal supervisory authorities and enterprises themselves. We do not just record figures – we feel how air quality is changing, and we understand how important this is for each resident of Nizhny Tagil, said Denis Mamontov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Sverdlovsk Region. We see positive dynamics and will continue to personally coordinate this work, without weakening control for a day, until we fulfill all our commitments and achieve tangible results for people.
According to him, in the cities of the region are carried out diverse environmental measures aimed at reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.
“Governor Denis Pasler noted that this is facilitated, for example, by reducing the number of coal boilers in the Middle Urals and transferring them to alternative fuels,” said Denis Mamontov. In addition, Sverdlovsk enterprises make a significant contribution to solving environmental problems, which install effective emission filtration systems and modernize production.
Within the framework of the Clean City project, five gas boiler houses were reconstructed in Nizhny Tagil and 12 new cars were added to the tram park.
Systematic work of industrial enterprises, support of regional authorities and control by the federal center allow Nizhny Tagil to consistently move towards the goals of the federal project “Clean Air”. The implementation of the planned measures is aimed at further reducing emissions and creating a comfortable environment for residents of the city.
Control work at objects of I and II categories within the framework of federal state environmental control shows high dynamics in reducing emissions. Nizhny Tagil has one of the best indicators among the cities participating in the Clean Air federal project.
“With the constant development of the industrial base, it is necessary to pay maximum attention to the preservation of the environment, especially since modern technologies can significantly reduce the impact of regional enterprises on the environment,” said Denis Pasler. - The reduction of emissions as a result of all measures carried out amounted to more than 20 thousand tons per year.
